Pulverised lignite fired once-through boilers
Once the supercritical technology became feasible, lignite continued its career as the cheapest and effective source of energy. During the subcritical era the two BB-1880 once-through boilers operated in Nikola Tesla Power Plant in Yogoslavia were the largest boilers ever manufactured by RAFAKO. Bełchatów Power Plant which operates 12 boilers BB-1150 is however RAFAKO's most important reference within this field (360 MW units).
Nowadays, the largest boilers constructed are the ones with supercritical steam parameters. In 2009 Consortium ALSTOM / RAFAKO delivered 1345 t/h supercritical boiler for Pątnów Power Plant. Two years later the same Consortium delivered the largest boiler operated in Poland for Bełchatów Power Plant (2400 t/h). Before, RAFAKO has already delivered numerous boiler pressure parts for supercritical boilers built in Germany, Finland and Greece.
